Synopsis: Lucknow Central is the story based on true events of a small town man, Kishan Mohan Girhotra (portrayed by Farhan Akhtar) who dreams of making it big as a singer but his dreams meet the harsh reality as he is convicted of murder and lands in jail, where he is awaiting death penalty. While serving his sentence at the prison, Gayatri Kashyap, an NGO worker, visits the jail with the idea of holding a band competition which is the only chance of freedom for him is through Music and that's when he befriends four other inmates. He devises a plan of forming a music band with other inmates, the real intention, of course, is to escape.
