In the present scenario when the Punjabi music industry is filled with hip hop beats, rap lyrics, & RnB singles/albums, Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Deep Matta is trying his hands to the time of the Punjabi folk. He is coming up with his new music project which will have a Punjabi folk touch and the project is titled “Folk Project”. 

This next single by Deep Matta is a perfect blend of folk lyrics, Punjabi folk style of singing mashed with some hip beats. Deep stated that the Idea behind Folk Project is to present the core of Punjabi singing style (folk) enriched with hip beats that will surely appeal to the young brigade who love to tune to the Punjabi music. 

Lyrics of this new single are penned by Deep Matta & Didar Sandhu. Since the idea was to bring the best of old school Punjabi folk style music into limelight, Deep decided to use parts of lyrics by Punjabi music legend and his huge inspiration Didar Sandhu. Coincidently, Deep’s father shares the same name, Didar Singh Sandhu.

This is the first time Deep Matta has produced music of his full song, along with writing the lyrics, composing and singing the song.
